Swami Prthasarathy is acclaimed as the greatest living exponent of Vedanta. He has a multi-disciplined academic base, which includes post-graduation from London University. Swamiji has written twelve books presenting the timeless philosophy of life in contemporary thought and language. Three of them are best sellers. “The Eternities: Vedanta Treatise” in its 17th edition has been extolled as the ‘Book of the Planet’.


Ensuring everyone has access to this knowledge, Swamiji has conducted over 10,000 lectures spanning over 60 years enthralling audiences the worldwide. People from various backgrounds are given an opportunity to learn these universal truths through these discourses.

Founder of Vedanta Academy

In 1988, Swamiji founded the Vedanta Academy in India and it is now acclaimed as the world resource for Vedanta philosophy attracting leading companies and management organizations through its residential programs.

Swamiji's pioneering lifetime research has formulated Self­management courses for corporations worldwide. He is a leading resource for distinguished institutions such as the Young Presidents' Organisation, World Economic Forum, NASA, Microsoft, Harvard University, Aspen Institute among others.


At 92, Swamiji follows a daily schedule of yoga and exercises. He is also an accomplished sportsman regularly winning the man of the match awards for his Academy cricket team. At 6 feet tall, Swamiji has maintained a 32-inch waistline, 148 pound weight and ideal blood pressure and sugar levels for the past 67 years!
